Academy
I: (High School varsity players) Ages 13-18 with 4-8 yrs of
playing experience. This stage will prepare players to compete
at local tournaments and high school level. Most often, the athletes
will receive personal training from a certified and highly educated
professional. The development of personal pattern, on-court decision
making skills and weapon development are essential during this
phase, and will help players to transition to our highest training
program.
Academy
II: (High School varsity and high junior varsity players)
Ages 13-18 with 3-5 yrs of playing experience. At this point the
athlete evolves into a serious player. Players no longer want
to just play tennis; they want to be good tennis players. Pros
will offer instructions and drills that will help our students
to understand how to control the height, direction, spin and speed
of the ball which will translate into success during match play.
Acquiring these skills will help students advance to our next
two highest levels.
Academy
III: Ages 10-18 with 2-4 yrs of playing experience. During
this phase it is essential that young players develop agility,
balance and coordination. At this stage we introduce singles strategy
for match play as well as basic footwork pattern. At this point
we will introduce our players to the intra-club league that will
assist our players to learn how to compete in match play settings.
Academy Classes
Flight
I: Ages 9-14 beginners to intermediate . This is our introductory
program for older kids, which ranges from those who are beginners
to those who may have played for less than three year. Students
are divided into ability level and are taught the fundamentals
of the game. At this stage we emphasize proper grips and swing
paths for the forehand, backhand, volleys, serves and overheads.
We will also introduce the students to basic rules and strategy
for match play that will help them advance to our next program.
Flight
II: Ages 6-9 beginners to low intermediate. The fun continues
at this level, but we also want to build a solid foundation for
proper grip and technique. Instructors will teach a style that
will yield the greatest success and will also prepare the students
to easily transition to the next stage
Future
Stars: Ages 4-6 Beginners to low intermediate. Having fun
and developing a love of the game is the primary focus at this
stage. We want our students to develop gross motor skills such
as; running, catching, jumping and balance that will help them
transition to our next stage. A child wants to play at this level
and is not interested in repetitive drills, therefore it is important
that the teaching professionals are energetic and keep the atmosphere
playful.
Junior memberships are required for all Fall-Winter academy programs.
